We construct our riding arenas using Penn State University recommended guidelines. On occasion, we may add perimeter piping to drain the arena more quickly. We realize that if it rains on Friday, you may still want to ride on Saturday. The elevation and suitability of the sub-base will be determined after the top soil has been stripped. The base will be added to the sub-base. It will be compacted and crowned. When it comes to the footing, we believe that the Owner should select the footing material and the depth of the footing material, because no one knows your horse better than you.
